A group of accomplished Canadian entrepreneurs and professionals of Pakistani origin gathered in Montreal to found a new business and professional consortium named CPACT.
The ground breaking ceremony event for *“CPACT – Canada Pakistan Affiliated chamber of Trade” held on Nov 19th was hosted by the driving force behind CPACT’s formation; Mr. Hayee Bokhari.
Former Standard & Poors managing director Mr.Zaheer Khan chaired the Canada Pakistan Affiliated Chamber of Trade (CPACT) initial meeting, later nominated directors were presented to the Members and each board member was voted one by one.
Other board members include Community Development and Entrepreneur Co-Chair Mr.Shehzad Khokhar, Women Empowerment Advocate Sadia Sajid; Social Advocate Shaheen Junaid*; Co-Founder and Owner of Tandori Franchise Samad Razzaq; journalist and editor-in-chief of Nawai Pakistan newspaper Mukhtar Hassan; and Successful entrepreneur and President of Islamic Centre of Quebec Nasir Ahmed.The founders set forth their objective to promote mutual support through seminars and business forums as well as establishing an online presence through a web site and social networks.
It was reiterated that CPACT is formed to fill the VOID of a business & professional consortium, in particular to assist the young generation who will become the pioneers of the future and to fully develop the potential of Canadians of Pakistani Origin (CPO).The organization aims to pool the resources by bringing together leaders in engineering, medicine, law, finance, higher education and research and development from throughout Canada.
“Most importantly, we aim to promote gender parity and to set an example for future generations in taking the lead with utmost transparency,” said Cronomagic Canada CEO *Hayee Bokhari*.
CPACT first ever General body gathering was attended by Business and professional Men and women of the Canadian Pakistani Community. Newly joined member voted to approve the By-laws which gave birth to the Organization.In this rare united event, all invitees were offered lifetime complimentary membership and the founder group presented By-laws to the general public.
