Quebec Announces $15 Million For Palliative Care


Most of new funding will help care for terminally ill people at home he Parti Québécois government is injecting $15 million dollars to improve access to palliative care in the province.Premier Pauline Marois made the surprise announcement on Sunday in Montreal, as she gave her opening address at an international congress for hundreds of palliative care experts from around the French-speaking world.More than 300 people attended the second annual congress.Quebec Minister for Social Services Veronique Hivon said the new funding will help answer the needs of people who are sick and suffering, as well as their families.
